Begin your adventure in Cochin (Kochi), the Queen of the Arabian Sea, before ascending to the cool highlands of Munnar. Discover endless tea plantations, scenic waterfalls, and the rare Nilgiri Tahr at Eravikulam National Park. Continue to Thekkady, home to the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, where you can enjoy boating, spice plantation tours, and traditional Kerala art forms like Kathakali and Kalaripayattu.

 

Experience the tranquil charm of Alleppey, famous for its network of serene backwaters, lush paddy fields, and houseboat cruises. Journey onward to Trivandrum, visiting the grand Padmanabhaswamy Temple, the majestic Jatayu Sculpture, and the breathtaking cliffs of Varkala Beach along the way.

 

End your tour at the southernmost tip of India — Kanyakumari, where the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal, and Indian Ocean meet. Witness one of India’s most spectacular sunsets and visit the iconic Vivekananda Rock Memorial. On your return journey, explore the peaceful Poovar backwaters, the towering Aazhimala Shiva Statue, and the pristine Kovalam beaches before departure from Trivandrum.

Itinerary

Day 01: Kochi to Munnar (125 km / Approx. 4 hrs):

  • Cab will pick you up from Cochin Airport or Ernakulam Railway Station and transfer to Munnar – the picturesque hill station located at 1600 meters above sea level.
  • Once the summer resort of the British in South India, Munnar is known for its rolling tea gardens and cool climate.
  • En route, enjoy waterfalls and scenic viewpoints.
  • On arrival, check in to your hotel.
  • Later, visit the Tea Museum, which showcases the history and evolution of tea plantations in Munnar.
  • Overnight stay in Munnar.

 

Day 02: Munnar Local Sightseeing:

  • After breakfast, proceed for local sightseeing:
  • Eravikulam National Park – home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr and offering panoramic views of rolling hills and grasslands.
  • Return to town for lunch (recommended: Saravana Bhavan or Sree Mahaveer Restaurant for pure veg meals).
  • Visit Mattupetty Dam – enjoy the serene surroundings and optional boat ride.
  • Continue to Kundala Lake and Kundala Dam, known for pedal and row boating amidst stunning scenery.
  • In the evening, stroll through the local Munnar market for spices, tea, and handmade souvenirs.
  • Overnight stay in Munnar.

Day 03: Munnar to Thekkady (100 km / Approx. 3 hrs):

  • After breakfast, check out and drive to Thekkady.
  • On arrival, check in to your hotel and rest for a while.
  • Later, visit:
  • Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary (Tiger Reserve) – one of India’s most captivating wildlife reserves.
  • Enjoy boating on Periyar Lake (recommended to book tickets online to avoid queues).
  • Overnight stay in Kumily / Thekkady.

 

 Day 04: Thekkady to Alleppey (140 km / Approx. 4 hrs):

  • After breakfast, check out and proceed to Alleppey, also known as “Venice of the East.”
  • Check in to your hotel or homestay.
  • After a short rest, enjoy a boat ride through the scenic backwaters (optional, at extra cost).
  • Sail past lush paddy fields, coconut groves, and quaint village life.
  • Overnight stay in Alleppey.

 

 Day 05: Alleppey to Trivandrum via Jatayu (190 km / Approx. 5 hrs)

 After breakfast, check out and drive towards Trivandrum.

 En route, visit:

  • Jatayu Earth’s Center (Jatayu Park) – home to the world’s largest bird sculpture (entry and ropeway charges extra).
  • Varkala Beach – famous for its dramatic cliffs and stunning ocean views.
  • On arrival in Trivandrum, check in to your hotel.
  • Visit Padmanabhaswamy Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu – the richest temple in the world.
  • Overnight stay in Trivandrum.

 

Day 06: Trivandrum to Kanyakumari (100 km / Approx. 3 hrs)

 After breakfast, check out and drive to Kanyakumari, the southernmost tip of India.

 On arrival, check in to your hotel.

 Visit:

  • Vivekananda Rock Memorial – built in honor of Swami Vivekananda, showcasing spiritual and architectural brilliance.
  • Devi Kanyakumari Temple (Kumari Amman Temple) – one of the most sacred and ancient temples in India.
  • Triveni Sangamam – the confluence of the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal, and Indian Ocean.
  • Enjoy a breathtaking sunset at Kanyakumari Beach.
  • Overnight stay in Kanyakumari.

 

Day 07: Kanyakumari to Trivandrum Drop via Poovar & Kovalam (120 km / Approx. 4 hrs)

 After breakfast, check out and drive back to Trivandrum.

 En route, visit:

  • Poovar Island – where lake, river, sea, and beach meet; enjoy an optional backwater boating experience.
  • Aazhimala Shiva Temple – featuring a magnificent 58-foot statue of Lord Shiva with Goddess Ganga, set dramatically on a seaside cliff.
  • Kovalam Beach – one of India’s best beach destinations, consisting of Samudra, Hawa, and Lighthouse Beaches.
  • Later, drop at Trivandrum Airport / Railway Station for your onward journey.
  • Trip Ends!
